Functional Obedience
GROUP CLASS | 4 weeks
Foundations that last a lifetime.
Better Behaviour Basics is the first step in our Functional Obedience program, designed to help you build a calmer, more responsive companion you can enjoy both at home and out in the world. Over four weeks, this group course covers essential foundation skills using positive reinforcement and modern training techniques. We focus on creating engagement, teaching clear communication through markers, and building reliable responses even in distracting environments.
This course covers:
-
Sit and drop on cue
-
Coming when called (recall)
-
Engagement with their handler
-
Basic tricks to boost focus and confidence
-
Calm behaviour around people and dogs

We introduce and gradually layer skills like using food and toys as rewards, understanding equipment, and working around distractions.
As the course progresses, we begin refining behaviours and adding duration and reliability — helping you move from basic commands to real-life obedience that actually sticks.

At the end of the program, your dog will receive a certificate, and have the opportunity for discounted one-on-one support if your dog needs extra help with specific challenges.
